Today was the first walk I've had down at the beach for quite some time. If you've been with me for awhile, you know sharing photos of my walks is my thing.

I haven't been doing that as often as of late as my four-month bout with pneumonia earlier this year made it really hard to get back on the horse, as they say. It's a bit like exercise. Once you stop, it's really hard to start again.
​
It felt really good to get out for that long. The weather was perfect. Not too hot or cold. Plus it was cloudy, so I didn't have to worry about slathering on a ton of sunscreen.
​
I almost felt like my old self. When I was down there, I heard some loud squeaking and didn't really pay attention at first as I was on my phone. When I looked up, I saw about FIVE minks jumping all over each other and playfighting. I was gobsmacked!!!
​
When I see a mink at the beach, it's a rare occasion and a magical sight. Normally when I would go down to the lake on a regular basis (say, 4 to 6 days a week) I would see a mink maybe once every month or two.

To see that many in one outing today was wild. (Maybe it was the universe rewarding me for being away for so long?) Of course, as soon as I saw them, I quickly went to grab my camera but they had scampered off into a tunnel and were gone. I did see a few minks running back and forth across the path and took some photos.

I LOVE minks because they are super cute, but also can be vicious when provoked. They're small, but they definitely don't take any shit. Plus, they are incredibly determined creatures. I watched a mink try to bring one of their more "difficult" meals back to their home, which took them well over an hour. I know because I watched the events transpire and took photos the whole time. Does that make me determined as well? 🤣
