Remember Ye Olde Black Friday?

Hi Reader,

Even though Black Friday doesn't technically start until the day after Thanksgiving, it really feels like the event is in full swing, doesn't it?

I'm already starting to feel burnt out. How about you? πŸ˜†

Do you love it? Do you hate it?

I remember in Days of Olde... (you know, back in the days when you walked to school for hours in waist deep snow...) there was an old school approach to Black Friday. (We're talking the aughts here.)

This was when Black Friday truly fell upon a Friday. You'd head to the stores, sometimes lining up for hours beforehand in the freezing cold, patiently waiting for the doors to open to stampede for all the goodies.

Maybe you got lucky and were spared a trip to the hospital battling for one of those big screen TV doorcrashers they only had "limited" quantities of.

Those were the days right? A deal really wasn't a deal without the threat of imminent injury or death.

Nowadays, Black Friday deals seem to have permeated the culture and let's face it, pretty much equate to "cash grab." There really isn't any sense of urgency or desperation to get a deal as it's spread out over days - if not weeks - it's really not special at all.

It's like leaving a Christmas tree up all year round. It makes it feel routine. Almost soulless.

That said, since there's so much whiplash-inducing Black Friday hullaballoo going on right now, I'm holding off on my travel adventures for a bit. I have special bits and bobs for you and I don't want them to get lost in the shuffle.

And when it comes to the shuffle, I've found the best way to come out of Black Friday relatively unscathed is to make a list of things that you were already interested in.

Categorize them: Needs and Wants.

Then consider - do you NEED it right now? Or do you just want it? Can it wait? And if it can, will the deal ever show up again at this price?

And is the deal truly a deal? As in, you've never ever seen a price this amazing before? Or is it a "good enough" deal that it fills the bill because you need it at this moment and would pay full price for it anyway?

Whatever you do, try not to mindlessly surf. Browsing on Amazon and being left with a $500 bill for a snazzy popcorn bowl and random shiny objects you'll never get around to using is not going to do you any good.

I do have a list of things I have my eye on for Black Friday. They include mostly software and memberships (ie: my Black Friday Adobe renewal which only comes once a year) along with Christmas gifts I need to get (and gifts for myself.)

With that said, I've outlined a few great products to be had which I believe to be well worth the investment. And I feel strongly enough about them, that some will come with some Black Friday bonuses from me.

Happy shopping! And of course, if you find something that's "doorcrasher, big screen TV-worthy," feel free to write and let me know what you scored. I love me some deals, after all. πŸ’˜

Thrivecart's Best Deal EVER

If you're interested in selling digital products and don't want to pay high monthly fees from shop platforms like Shopify or Etsy, ThriveCart is kicking off Black Friday with their biggest offering in one seamless bundle:

It's called ThriveCart Ultimate and right now, during Black Friday, you’ll get these bonuses:

- Professional Coaching Checkout Template
- ThriveCart Launch Course
- Thrive & Shine Course s (plus your opportunity to get ThriveCart-certified!)
-15,000 Member Private Community & Expert Coaches

It's called ThriveCart Ultimate and right now, during Black Friday, you’ll get these bonuses:

- Professional Coaching Checkout Template
- ThriveCart Launch Course
- Thrive & Shine Course s (plus your opportunity to get ThriveCart-certified!)
-15,000 Member Private Community & Expert Coaches

Right now, when you grab this bundle, you'll also get:

  • $100 off ThriveCart Ultimate: That’s ThriveCart, ThriveCart Pro and Learn+ in one awesome bundle
  • $50 off ThriveCart Pro

Yes, the cost is a bit of an ouchie, but compare it to what you would pay monthly for something like Shopify, and this one-time price, with ZERO ongoing fees is a fantastic value. And while there have been growing pains over the last year, with over 55,000 users, and 5 billion in payments (yes, billion!) it's safe to say that this platform isn't going anywhere. In fact, Thrivecart just announced that they're now offering 24/7 support!

While other cart providers charge transaction fees, ThriveCart provides an alternative solution for a one-time cost time cost. I'm a big fan of lifetime licenses and not having to deal with recurring monthly fees.

That means you can use the full power of ThriveCart to:

  • Increase your average order value.
  • Reduce cart abandonment at the point of sale and with automated email follow ups.
  • Create unlimited products, checkouts and funnels to match any type of product, service or offer.
  • Keep your customers paying for longer with the ThriveCart Pro subscription saver.
  • Build your own affiliate program.

The sale technically begins at 5 pm EST today (so make sure you keep an eye out for your coupons which will automatically be applied to the cart!)

✨ BONUS - If you purchase Thrivecart Pro using my link, I'll gift you $250 in Lara Loot or $350 for Thrivecart Ultimate to use in my store. New additions (including trainings and courses) are coming soon. You can also save your bonuses as they don't expire.

As an added Black Friday bonus, if you buy Thrivecart Pro, I'll also add a a half day of Voxer or a 45 minute Pick My Brain Session to brainstorm your next big business idea. ($250 value!) This session can either be held over Skype or via email/video messages. If you buy Thrivecart Ultimate, I'll throw in a second session.

Here are some things we can do during your session:

1) If you're interested in creating a newsletter like this one, I can definitely help!

2) Have you been wanting to start a podcast? Or interested in interviewing guests (or being interviewed) I can teach you my secrets for instantly feeling comfortable on camera. (I've been a writer/ television producer for over 20+ years and have interviewed my share of A list celebs.)

3) If you've been interested in procuring unique art but don't want to pay to hire an artist, I can walk you through my tried and true methods of coming up with custom, commercial use images.

4) I can show you how I set up my shop page that integrates seamlessly with Thrivecart which you can create without being techie.

If you want to skip the"Voxer/pick my brain" session, you can add another $100 of Lara Loot instead.

Michelle's 30 Day Digital Journal experience

My dear friend Michelle Rohr has just released her brand new 30 Day Digital Journal experience which is now fully editable within Canva!

I have known Michelle for four years and am obsessed with all her gorgeous creations. Here's a pic of us at lunch together in Porto in September. (I'll be sharing more about our time together in my upcoming travel series!)

Michelle is having a 50% Black Friday sale on almost all of her products and has added her new 30 Day Digital Journal to the sale!

A 30 day digital journal is so much more than just another digital product you can sell. This journal template can be used in the following ways:

  • As the foundation and framework for my courses (i.e. The Abundance Adventure and Release and Reclaim are courses that Michelle created which started out as 30 day journals).
  • As a fun way to market your programs in general. The template includes a page layout for you to do this too!
  • As a way to grow your email newsletter by linking to a newsletter sign up form inside your free journals.
  • As a tool for any 30 day transformational challenge whenever you want to focus on an area of your life or business that you'd like to work on.
  • As a fun, unique gift for your community that they can use to have their own 30 day transformations too.

These are incredibly fast and easy to make. You can literally have the same journal prompt every day for 30 days.

If you buy the 30 day digital journal (or anything in Michelle's shop) I'll match your purchase in Lara Loot for anything on my shop page.

Wishing you an amazing (pre-Black) Friday!

I'm off to a convention center with my hubby who took the day off to walk around and look at stuff from what he has deemed "the women's show." πŸ˜†

My birthday is this weekend and he takes it off every year so we can make the rounds in this huge building. Oh and there's no Black Friday deals anywhere to be had! Just unique products that you can't get anywhere else.

I'll be back soon with the BEST Black Friday story which led to me being with my hubby all these years. πŸ’—

Hi Reader, How was Black Friday/Cyber Monday? Whether you stocked up on fantastic deals (or steered clear of the hullaballoo), I hope you got everything you wanted from it and nothing you didn't!I fared pretty well this year. I had a scaled down list of business items as well as personal items which I was hoping to get and was able to pick up a few of the things I wanted. Some subscriptions I was hoping to get didn't go on sale which was a bummer but if something's really good, then they're...

Hi Reader,By now I'm sure you're experiencing EBFF. (Extreme Black Friday Fatigue.) The good news is, we're almost done so you can get back to normalcy. The bad thing is - we're not done yet as a lot of things are ending today (or very soon) so there's no more time to lollygag if you've been contemplating certain things.I just wanted to share a Black Friday from my younger days. My dear hubby (DH) who at the time, I had been dating for a few months, went away to Chicago for Thanksgiving. I...

Hi Reader,Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends! I hope you're having a wonderful day relaxing, eating lots of delicious food and not feeling guilty about it! I'm finally back from my extended birthday celebrations this weekend. I took the day off on Friday to spend with my husband who also surprised me by booking Monday off. I've done a lot of window shopping over the past few days starting at the One of a Kind show in Toronto on Friday which is a huge convention of local artisans who...
